What d’ya think? They’re made of a dense foam and yet are ultra-light. They’ll provide some buffering for landings which tend to be heavy due to the quad descending through it’s own down draft. They’re actually golf practice balls, but I gambled they’d be good for this, and was right!
There are other advantages too: they reduce the points of contact with the ground to 4 – previously the legs and their black shoes contacted the ground making 8 points of contact so there’s now a much better chance of the drone sitting stable on the ground; I’m also hoping they will offer more friction for take-off. Only testing will tell.
